Be. You.

“Write a letter to your daughter. Don’t make it sound like all the blah, blah, blah that’s already out there. Be You. And the right people will find you.”

Those words from my good friend echoed in my mind for days.

Be You.

BE. YOU.

BE.

Then after submitting my idea for a website/blog to a graphic designer she came back with the logo BE for Braveheart Essentials. It might seem odd, but I had never put the B and the E together. Creativity, you’ve got to love it! The message I needed to hear was coming through loud and clear.

BE.

Have you given yourself full permission to BE? Do you know who you are without trying to be who you think you should be? That’s a question I ask myself often.

I was raised to agree, keep the peace, and make others feel good, but somewhere in all the niceties and agreements I got lost. I remember when I first met my now husband he asked me how I felt about a topic and I had nothing. I sat dumbfounded. He continued to ask questions and dig deeper and all I could do was shrug, and cry. I was completely out of touch with knowing who I was or what I wanted. The good news was, he gave me space and in time I grew stronger and bolder. The shy, unsure, timid girl grew into a warrior momma who danced to the beat of my own drummer.

Over the years, I came to discover I had strong feelings and beliefs about things. In fact, according to the Strengths Finder test, BELIEF is my super power and once I come to BE-lieve, I don’t waver.

That being said, if we’re having a discussion and you’re rattling off what you believe, I will listen. I may not agree, but I will listen. If you want input, I will share.

There are a few things you should know about me if you’re reading…

I believe Jesus is The Way, The Truth, and The Life. No one comes to the Father except through Him.

I believe in building strong families.

I believe in caring for your neighbor and loving others.

I believe the kitchen is the heart of the home.

I believe “health” care begins with basics like good nutrition, exercise, caring for emotional health. Alternative healthcare is the original healthcare and an integrative approach using the best of both worlds is good.

I believe home education is simple and doable. If you’re called, you can do it!

I believe in hard work and working hard.

I believe in dreaming big!

I believe…

“You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we’re apart…I’ll always be with you.”

― A.A. Milne, Winnie the Pooh Library
