Christmas Cocktails & Mocktails: Coconut Lime Holiday Margarita
I love the holidays.
Sparkling Christmas lights. Fresh baked cookies. Beautifully wrapped packages. Falling asleep under the Christmas tree. Driving my hub crazy as we listen to Christmas carols ’round the clock. Belting out Christmas Wrapping by the Waitresses with my daughter (HAHA). Cozying up with the family to watch It’s A Wonderful Life for the umpteenth time and being reminded of how truly wonderful life is. Hosting Christmas craft days with elementary aged kiddos.
AND this year I’m adding a new tradition…
I’m getting my mixologist on and experimenting with Christmas cocktails and mocktails.
Every year I spend hours flipping through magazines & cookbooks gathering ideas seeking out new recipes. In print, along with the beautiful food, there are always festive drinks for kids and adults.
In years past, I’ve hesitated making pretty drinks because we haven’t had the ingredients on hand. But this year I was asked to participate in a Sip & Shop event and I offered to provide cocktails & mocktails!
Once I committed I knew I had to follow through.
I did a little research, came up with some ideas, drafted my list and headed out to stock up on the basics!
The possibilities are ENDLESS!!
I created 3 drink options for the Sip & Shop.
- Coconut Lime Holiday Margarita (with or without alcohol)
- Chai Spiced Holiday Tumbler (with or without alcohol)
- Cranberry Peppermint Italian Soda (kid friendly)
The Coconut Lime Holiday Margarita was a BIG HIT! I thought the appeal was because of the eye catching cranberries, limes and glittering sugar crystals, but I realized folks really love margaritas! It attracted the shoppers!
So, with that in mind, I though I’d share the COCONUT LIME HOLIDAY MARGARITA first. I included Lime Essential Oil in the recipe. It gives the drink a pleasant lime boost AND citrus oils are great at helping detox the body. It’s a win-win if you want to use it for your cocktails. It boosts flavor AND it helps support the congested liver.
If you’d like to make this drink a Mocktail, eliminate alcohol and add gingerale, lemon-lime soda, or sparkling water. It’s really good!
*For those interested and not currently connected with an essential oil educator, I’d be happy to send you an oil sample to try. Simply fill out this form and I’ll get the samples mailed out.
If you’d like to make this drink with a pure, therapeutic, food grade essential oil, you can purchase a 15 mL bottle of lime essential oil retail, just click here. Each 15 mL bottle has ~250 drops of pure, unadulterated essential oil.
For this recipe we used 2 drops of lime eo. As you can tell, the bottle will last you quite a while!
If wholesale essential oil prices are of interest to you, you can save an additional 25%. For our Holiday Cocktail series, I used three of our popular oils. To check them out, click this link where you can learn more about a wholesale membership that will save you 25% off retail prices + I’ve added the three ESSENTIAL essential oils (some of our MOST USED) + If you get started, you’ll receive a stunning WELCOME BOX filled with all sorts of goodies to get you started on your essential oil journey.
And lastly, whatever your plans this holiday season, I hope you take time to pause. Make the moments last longer, hug those around you, and do little things to make this world a more beautiful place.
Blessings to you all!
