Where’s The Motivation?
How’s your motivation? Are you on a schedule? Or have the events of the last many months rocked your world for the worst and you’re ready to find your mojo and get back to your normal?
At our home, routines were partially tossed out the window or completely refigured last spring when life as we knew it came to a screeching halt. These changes may have been appealing if you’re like me and have an Abstract Random learning style. As an AR, I thought the season of unpredictability and spontaneity was a dream come true, but six months later, I miss routines and schedules. The days pass and I wonder what in the world did I accomplish? I’m busy all day, but heading nowhere. It’s a strange place to be and I’m over it. The time has come to regroup, start the school year, and get back to our normal.
As I sat down to set a fall schedule, I was feeling a bit overwhelmed, unsure of where to start?
Here in California we’re all still all at home.
Are you trying to figure out how to keep a home, work from home, school your kids from home all while your hub is conducting online corporate meetings from home?
That’s our current situation.
We have a small California ranch home where we all work and/or learn. My hub has worked from home since March. My kids attend college and high school from home and I run a business from home. It’s taken some adjustment to make our space conducive to learning, working, and living. Having our kids learn from home is nothing new as we’re entering our 18th year of homeschooling, but having my husband home in Zoom meetings all day has taken some adjustment. We all have our responsibilities and I want everyone to find success regardless of the situation.
Today, our local Bible Study Fellowship group began. This year we launched our study online and I’m a group leader. I woke early to prepare to facilitate the online group of 9 women, many of whom I didn’t know. One thing I always do when I need to focus my mind is turn to my oils. I applied Thinker and Motivate to my wrists and diffused Motivate Encouraging Blend.
Motivate is an oil I choose regularly to set the mood and stimulate the limbic system creating an environment that fosters productivity. This morning I filled the diffuser with water and 5 drops of Motivate essential oil. My workspace smells amazing and this blend of oils gives me the get up and go I need to do all the things! If you want to change the mood of your home to invigorate, encourage, or uplift, start up the diffuser. It’s amazing how a few drops of essential oil can affect memory, learning, behavior and emotion. When I want to change how we’re feeling almost instantly, I will either inhale or diffuse an essential oil. Motivate Encouraging Blend contains Peppermint Plant, Clementine Peel, Coriander Seed, Basil Herb, Yuzu Peel, Melissa Leaf, Rosemary Leaf, Vanilla Bean Absolute.
- Peppermint supports energy levels and alertness.
- Clementine is uplifting.
- Coriander also supports energy levels and emotionally brings someone from apprehension to participation.
- Basil helps with focus and supports the brain when mentally fatigued.
- Yuzu Peel helps support memory and brain health.
- Melissa helps with anxious feelings and supports brain health.
- Rosemary supports memory and focus while easing mental fatigue.
- Vanilla Bean Absolute eases stress, encourages relaxation, and inspires calm.
